Our distribution substations are subdivided into container-sized modules, which can be manufactured, assembled, and tested at the factory, allowing easy transport and fast installation and commissioning at the site.

The pre-fabricated building shelters the equipment from environmental influences, thus increasing substation availability and reliability. Fences can be omitted, which simplifies permitting while enhancing the substation’s aesthetic appearance.

The customized and compact solutions have a small footprint and include ready-to-connect primary and secondary cabling with plug-type contacts. Applications range from small distribution systems to the integration of renewable generation. Fast erection and dismantling also makes them easy to relocate and well-suited for usage as auxiliary substation during the repair or maintenance of existing primary substations

These factory-assembled and -tested solutions are ideally suited for permanent or semi-permanent usage. These include grid integration of renewable sources, power supply to urban areas, railways, offshore rigs, mining and exploration sites, and other industrial operations.

Configurations are customized, spanning from a line bay to a complete H substation and comply with local grid codes and standards. The scope of supply covers the complete assembly which may include: 

• Power transformers

• AIS, GIS or hybrid switchgear

• Protection and control equipment

• Auxiliary systems including batteries and battery chargers, fire detection systems, heating, air conditioning, etc. 

African Electrical Suppliers have power LV distribution and lighting solutions for the mining & construction industry. This is an improved and with higher current and voltage ranges than the older Gully Boxes System in the current mining/construction market. Our system can support 360v - 1kv and up to 300A.

T-Box Isolator is the base enclosure providing a joint for cables while providing downstream and local Isolation. Optional portable enclosures can be mounted on either or both sides.

Sub Board/T-Off Outlet is a handy portable way to T-Off for a sub board distribution feeder. Protection of OC/SC/EF is offered. Machine Outlet is an easily portable unit for providing a dedicated feed to a machine, pump, fan, drill, etc. without needing a further Distribution board or controller. Protection is provided to relevant construction and mining standards. A choice of mining restrained type receptacles and IP67 outlets are available.

Low Voltage Switchgear low-voltage switchgear is a low-voltage switchgear assembled by a factory (FBA) using standard modules. It is suitable for power supply and distribution systems with AC 60 (50) Hz, rated working voltages ≤ 1000V and rated working current of 6300A and below. Used for electric energy distribution, conversion, control and reactive power compensation.

These heavy-duty modular switchboards are commonly used in factories, industries, onboard automotive like trains and aeroplanes, etc.

The Compact Mini Sub-Stations with IP6X rating are in a standard configuration with an MV section, a Transformer section, and Low Voltage Section with all the necessary protection devices for the equipment and the personnel that operates this equipment. 

The voltage and current required by the customer will also determine the physical size of these compact substations to the customer's requirement.

The construction of the Mini Sub-Station will follow international standards for Mining, Tunnelling, and Construction section with the necessary certification as and when needed.
